Finance for Non-Finance Managers - In House
Our course is delivered in house or virtually for organisations throughout Europe. We can deliver from your own premises or at an external venue or virtually. You can have up to 20 participants on this course.
The aim of our course is to give people who work in your organisation a good understanding of the meaning of financial terminology and how the purpose and function of financial statements and financial information.
We can add any content you wish to your Finance for Non Finance Managers course.
We can incorporate your own financial information into our course if you would like this.
We can cover the content in a full day or we can cut it down to half a day. If you would like the Finance for Non Finance Managers course to be more impactful we can expand it to a day and a half or two days. It’s really all down to what you want from your course.

Suitability - Who should attend?
This course is aimed at people with little or no previous finance experience. We start the course with the assumption that the people attending have no real finance knowledge and/or may have some misconceptions or misunderstandings around finance and financial terminology.
By the end of the course, people attending will have a good understanding of the meaning and purpose of the financial statements. They will also understand basic accounting concepts such as 'accruals', depreciation, non current assets (fixed assets), current assets and liabilities, EBIt and EBITDA.
We will also incorporate any financial terms used in your organisation and will use your own financial statements as an integral part of the course if required.
Training Course Content
Below is a typical course content outline. We can add or remove items and tailor our courses for our clients
- Basic accounting concepts and terminology including accruals, depreciation, amortisation, fixed and current assets, stock, tangibles, intangibles & provisions.
- The structure and meaning of the financial statements including the Profit & Loss Account/Income Statement, Balance Sheet/Statement of Financial Position & Cash Flow
- The use and meaning of EBIT and EBITDA
- Analysing Income & Expenses
- Management Accounts v Financial Accounts
- Introduction to ratio analysis including Gross Margin, Return on Capital
- Linking the theory to the internal reports of your organisation
- Introduction to the concept of liquidity
Course delivery details
The aim of the course is to provide Managers with the form, content, and terminology of basic Financial Statements. To enable Managers to understand and interpret a set of Financial Statements.
There will be some technical content to be delivered in the course. Delegates will be provided with a real set of financial information on the course. We can use your own reports to give a real impact on the course. These will be used for reference and exercises throughout the course.
The course can be delivered in person or virtually. Whichever method of delivery we use, there will be plenty of exercises for those attending including individual and group exercises.
Our courses are delivered in an upbeat and interesting way. We aim to keep everyone engaged throughout the training sessions.
Our course fees are based on a flat day rate (or half day rate) for the course. We can deliver to between 5 and 20 people.
