Spanish Parts 1 and 2
Cover part 1 and 2 of our beginners syllabus in just 10 weeks, starting in January. Immerse yourself in Spanish and kickstart your language learning with two evenings classes a week.
Always wanted to learn Spanish? This intensive course is a great way to gain confidence quickly. Over 10 weeks, you’ll spend 40 hours learning to hold engaging conversations and ask questions with ease.
From introducing yourself to ordering a drink, we’ll cover the topics that come up on a daily basis. Our tutors will also explain various grammatical structures to help you understand the language.

If you’re a complete beginner, this combined course will be the perfect fit. You should be able to attend classes two evenings a week and complete homework in your free time to make sure you can keep up.

Want to achieve an official City, University of London certificate? Simply make sure you attend over 70% of your classes. Our short courses aren't accredited, but employers will still recognise your achievement.
Training Course Content
We'll start with basic topics and grammar, then move on to the language you need for everyday conversations. In small groups, you'll learn to talk Spanish with speaking and listening tasks. We'll equip you with a range of vocabulary that covers everything from furniture to the weather.
By the end of this combined course, you'll be able to
- introduce yourself and talk about your family, profession, hobbies and weekly routine
- master the alphabet and Spanish pronunciation
- use numbers and tell the time
- order a drink and a snack in a bar
- express likes and dislikes
- describe things
- shop confidently
- talk about the city, the house, parts of the house and furniture
- discuss the time, days of the week, the months, the weather.
We'll teach you grammatical structures including
- pronunciation
- verbs in the present tense
- personal pronouns
- definite and indefinite articles
- adjectives and nouns, gender and number
- interrogative pronouns
- demonstrative adjectives and pronoun
- ser vs estar, prepositions of place
- verbs gustar and encantar.
Course delivery details
Your classes will take place over 10 weeks. You’ll attend two-hour lessons, twice a week for 10 weeks, to complete part 1 and 2.
Continuing Studies
After completing this combined course, you might choose to enrol on part 3 in the summer term.
