Course description
Motivational interviewing for speech and language therapists: Motivational Interviewing is a short-term, empathic and practical counselling approach used to support change. It helps us as therapists explore and resolve ambivalence with our clients, while motivating them to make changes in a manner congruent with the client’s own values and concerns. This skills-based workshop will introduce you to a range of motivational interviewing techniques and give you the opportunity to practise them in a safe environment. The course is suitable for speech and language therapists working with any types of client group, carers and families.
