Course description

The Level 5 Diploma in Teaching (FE and Skills) is the new qualification replacting the former Level 5 Diploma in Education and Training. It is designed for individuals working or aspiring to work in the Further Education and Skills (FES) sector.

Developed in collaboration with employer representatives and stakeholders, this diploma equips you with the necessary skills and knowledge to excel as a teacher in todays context.

All our courses are taught by professional lecturers, who have extensive experience of teaching in the sector. You will be provided with an academic tutor and subject specialist tutor throughout your course. Our higher-level courses are awarded by Ascentis.

? FE Teaching Qualification: Achieve a recognised teaching qualification that meets occupational standards approved by industry experts.

Suitability - Who should attend?

The course comprises mandatory and optional units which are assessed using a range of methods. These can be written essay/reports, peer observations, reflective journal entries and presentations. A significant percentage of trainee study and assignment completion will be done independently. Attendance of 100% is expected. Learning support which includes academic study skills is available as necessary.

Continuing Studies

On successful completion of the course you will be a qualified Further Education Teacher and able to teach in an FE/ Sixth Form college.
