Course description
This course is for students with some experience of jewellery making and manipulating metals. It takes place in our well-equipped workshop with professional benches and a small forge.
Term 1: Repousse, fold forming, forging, anticlastic raising.
Term 2: Enamelling and etching.
Term 3: Mixed Media experimentation, which will include some clay work and also casting with resin and silver. Cold connections, riveting, hinge making and unusual settings will also be covered.
You should bring an A4 sketchbook/notebook for this course.
Some basic materials will be supplied throughout the course but you may need to purchase further specialist materials, such as precious/ semi precious stones and metals.
Recruitment – if we do not recruit to our target numbers we will try to offer the courses at reduced hours, or merge classes on different nights, therefore you may be working within a mixed ability group. If a course does not recruit enough students to run, you will receive a refund. Please refer to the Part-time prospectus for guidance on other refund issues.
