Teaching Assistant (Level 3)
This course comprises 8 distinct units, which are detailed on the ‘Snapshot’ tab above. These units are tailored to give students competence in the classroom environment, while at the same time providing a comprehensive understanding of the issues and subjects related to the support of children in education.
Core organizational skills, good communication levels with pupils, parents and teaching staff, and understanding all areas of child development are vital elements in the provision of effective childcare.
Other elements covered include awareness of health and safety aspects and knowledge of issues surrounding the safeguarding of children. You will explore how to support learning objectives, including the effective and compassionate treatment of those with special needs and other problems.

There are no set requirements and the course is open to people from all walks of life.
If you are interested in the development and learning of our younger generation and care about the rights of the individual, you are welcome to apply. In addition, your tutor will be on hand to support you, and you will receive a comprehensive study guide to help you make the most of your time with us.
You should take note that in order to work in a school environment, or indeed any other organisation that involves access to children, you may be required to undergo a Criminal Record Bureau (CRB) check.
