BREEAM UK New Construction – Existing Assessor
BREEAM UK New Construction focuses on mitigating the environmental impacts and improving the performance of new builds in the UK.
This training course enables existing BREEAM Assessors to understand the BREEAM UK New Construction scheme in terms of technical content and application, allowing you to extend your skills to carry out BREEAM assessments on UK new builds.
Successfully completing this course will allow you to apply to become a BREEAM UK New Construction assessor.

Pre-requisites
This top-up examination is only available to existing licensed UK BREEAM assessors (except BREEAM In Use).
This is for UK assessments only.
This scheme uses calculation tools which run in MS Excel with macros. Macintosh computers are unable to use this function and you will need access to a PC to complete assessments.

- Navigate and be confident in assessing the technical aspects of the BREEAM UK New Construction scheme
- Understand the assessment process and the support in place for the scheme and assessors

- Successfully carry out BREEAM assessments on new construction projects
Successfully passing this course and examination enables you to apply for your assessor’s license under the BREEAM UK New Construction scheme.
This exam will upgrade your current UK BREEAM assessor qualification to include the following building types: Retail, Offices, Industrial, Healthcare and Education, Multi-Residential and BREEAM Other Buildings. To become licensed, assessors are required to hold professional indemnity insurance.

This course comprises of approximately 30 hours of own-pace online training material introducing you to the BREEAM UK New Construction scheme.

- Resources: technical manuals, guidance notes, training knowledge base compliance notes and exercise workbook with associated evidence booklet
- Technical categories (management health and wellbeing, energy, transport, water, materials, waste, land use & ecology, pollution) & approved standards
- Mock examination
Examination
The course programme concludes with one online examination, set at a day and time to be agreed between the learner and ProctorU, who invigilate examinations on behalf of BRE Academy. The examination must be passed for learners to be classified as competent:
- BREEAM UK New Construction Technical examination
The exam is in an ‘open book’ format, meaning you can use any documents related to the course to aid you.
