Foundation Degree Nursing Associate Apprenticeship
Working as a Nursing Associate you will need to manage complex, sensitive and often pressured situations. You are in a position where compassion, trust and expertise are essential as you care for service users in a wide number of circumstances and with differing needs.
Through this programme you will become capable and competent, meeting the key care needs of all patient groups. You will appreciate each field of nursing practice and develop exceptional skills so you can meet the co-existing nursing and healthcare needs of service users. As you will learn whilst gaining hands-on experience you will be able to put your studies into practice immediately. You will see how your skills translate into the workplace, benefitting the service users, their families and your colleagues

Suitability - Who should attend?
To be admitted to the programme candidates in accord with NMC (2018) standards, the following requirements apply:
- Level 2 Numeracy and Literacy
- Capability and technological literacy to meet programme outcomes
- Must be in employment in a care setting
Academic qualifications:
- Key Skills Level 2 Maths and English
- GCSE’s Grade 4 and above or
- A Levels or
- Demonstrate the ability to study a programme at academic level 4 through previously completed Level 3 study
Applicants will be required to demonstrate the appropriate values and attitudes for the programme in accord with the NMC Standards.

Course delivery details
You will complete 25 hours of study during Theory blocks (46 weeks across the 2 years) and 25 hours in the practice setting during practice blocks (46 weeks across the 2 years).12 weeks holiday is modelled over the course of the 24 month programme.
