Course description
This multi-disciplinary online module, is intended for practitioners from a variety of backgrounds in diabetes care who wish to develop their knowledge, understanding and competencies. To undertake advanced clinical assessments, diagnosis, decision-making and management with children and young people with diabetes and other co-morbidities. To meet the advanced competencies as laid out in the UK NMC, (2015), RCN, (2010),HCPC (2007) and the RCPCH Framework for Competencies for level 3 training (SPIN) in Paediatric Diabetes (2018).
What's covered in the course?
You will learn to practice in a person centred partnership way with people with diabetes. Enhancing your clinical expertise and practice with critical analysis and application of the latest and emerging evidence in diabetes care. Whilst appreciating the person centred psychological and emotional reaction to developing complications to aim to enhance individuals quality of life.
This module is has been developed and is delivered with collaboration of the diabetes specialist teams at the internationally renowned Birmingham Children’s Hospital.
