Textiles Sewing with Organic and Sustainable Fabrics
This course will enable you to develop basic levels of skill, or to build on existing levels of skill in using sewing techniques, organic and sustainable and equipment, to produce your own chosen projects.

This course is for anyone who wants to learn or further develop their skills to produce or upcycle their own projects, using organic/ sustainable fabrics involving hand and, or machine sewing.
Training Course Content
What will I learn?
- How to use sewing machines, tools and equipment safely and correctly
- To take and record body measurements for your chosen project
- How to produce samples of techniques
- How to produce, upcycle, or alter a project to a quality standard
- An awareness of employment opportunities in the textiles industry
How will I learn?
- Tutor demonstration and instruction
- Exploring with equipment, tools and techniques
- Producing stitched samples
- By producing a small portfolio containing samples, information on techniques you have learned, and photographs of items that you have made
