HNC Construction: Level 4
Want to manage a construction site or become a top building surveyor? Our 2-year part-time HNC in Construction course will push you into a high level construction career.All our courses are designed to cover the full range of topics and tasks as laid down by the awarding body in response to industry requirements. All practical assignments will take place in our industry-standard workshops, with other work a mix of classroom and assignment activities.
Year 1
You will study the process of refurbishing a small building, including the surveying, designing and implementation of the works. As well as basic skills in technology, design, and science and materials, you will also develop CAD skills that can be used elsewhere in the course.
Year 2
You will consider the technology behind more complex, multi-storey buildings. This involves exploring the importance of sustainability, health and safety, and management in the construction process.
This is a part-time course, requiring attendance at the college one day per week to an early evening finish. The HNC also gives entry to part-time degree courses in architecture, building and quantity surveying.
