Course description
This course is designed for young people under the aged of 19. You will spend two days every week in a childcare setting working with children aged between 6 weeks and 8 years old. The remaining three days are spent in college covering topics such as: play, child development, safeguarding, health and safety, childhood health issues and working with children and parents. You will be taught by tutors that have vocational experience and fully supported on the programme with our tutorial scheme. Students are required to study basic skills in literacy alongside this programme. Maths & English are part of this study programme. Suitability - Who should attend?
You should have a good level of written and spoken English and have some GCSEs graded D-G (4+). You will be required to apply for a Criminal Records Bureau check before the start of the programme and this will be applied for at Barking & Dagenham College. You will need to attend an interview for this course.
