Assistant Accountant Level 3
Our Assistant Accountant apprenticeship, developed in partnership with Grant Thornton, is a level 3 programme designed to support individuals with an interest in Accounting to kick start a career. It can also be used to support your development at the earlier stages of your career. This course is a great alternative route to begin an accounting career as you'll cover the basic principles and gain the core skills you need to succeed as an accountant. You will be able to apply your learning and skills to your day to day tasks with confidence, with constant support from our experienced Coaches and Trainers. As the accountancy profession becomes more competitive, having a good foundation of skills is essential to a successful career.

For learners
This programme will give you the skillset needed to succeed as an Assistant Accountant, you will be equipped to help customers and support the running of the financial operations within your company. You will learn how to take ownership and responsibility for many vital administrative, clerical, and analytical tasks. The level 3 advanced qualification will open doors to roles such as an audit trainee, an insolvency executive, a payroll supervisor, or you can enter the industry through several routes.

- Principles of revenue expenditure and depreciation
- Financial accounts preparation
Excel and exceed
- EOQ (economic order quantity) and managing labour costs
- Principles of financial decision making
- VAT and business documentation
End point assessment (EPA)
- The End Point Assessment for this level 3 apprenticeship will take place in the final 3 months of your programme. This is your chance to evidence your learning through different assessments methods, these are a combination of calculations and written assessments, a Gateway Discussion, and the presentation of your programme project.
