Course description
Our 2-day Advance Steel course teaches new users the key functionality, tools, commands and workflows, available in Advance Steel for designing 3D steel structures and models.
Sessions include learning to create beams, columns, plates and connection elements such as bolts, holes and welds. You’ll also learn how to produce Bills of Materials, schedules and drawings for your model.
This introductory-level course teaches the use of Advance Steel’s key functionality, tools, commands and workflows. By building a steel structure from the ground up, you’ll learn to create:
- Beams and columns.
- Plates.
- Connection elements.
- Lists and schedules, such as Bills of Materials and loading lists.
- Drawings.
Armada is a long-standing Autodesk-authorised Training Centre (ATC), accredited to provide training in Advance Steel. Courses are hosted by Autodesk Certified Instructors (ACIs) from an engineering background with vast experience of using Advance Steel professionally.
Training is based primarily on Advance Steel 2025, but is relevant to all recent versions.

Suitability - Who should attend?
This course is for anyone who wants to start designing designing 3D steel structures using the Autodesk Advance Steel application.
Prerequisites
Delegates should have basic CAD skills, i.e. have attended AutoCAD Essentials training or have equivalent knowledge.
If you need to attend AutoCAD Essentials first, we offer an Advance Steel training bundle price for both courses.
Outcome / Qualification etc.
Delegates receive an e-certificate from Autodesk confirming successful completion of an accredited Advance Steel course.
