Course description
Topics include: cutting women's hair, cutting men's hair, colouring and lightening hair, the art of dressing hair and styling men's hair.
All 16-19 year olds on full-time programmes will be required to retake GCSE English and Maths or to undertake Functional Skills, if they have not already attained the equivalent of a GCSE grade C in these subjects, every year of their course, until they complete their studies.
Anyone considering a future career in hairdressing. Due to this, practical salon experience would be an advantage.
Excellent facilities with up to date and well equipped training salon using professional equipment and high quality commercial products. The salon is open to the public who contribute to students training, enabling our students to be well prepared for industry and employment.

Suitability - Who should attend?
Diploma – At least two GCSEs at grade 4 (grade C) or above, including Maths and English Language. You must demonstrate proven interest in the industry and have good references from your school or equivalent. You should also have a minimum of 80% attendance from your school/college/work.
