Reading FC Community Trust Level 1 Football Programme
This qualification aims to help support your personal development through acquiring skills and knowledge in sport, exercise and fitness. The qualification also allows you to gain personal transferable skills that can be applied to the workplace or further study.

Suitability - Who should attend?
Applicants for a Level 1 programme will normally have:
- a strong interest in their chosen programme of study
- the commitment to work towards improving English and Maths as part of the programme
- the ability to discuss past experiences of education and future ambitions.
Outcome / Qualification etc.
At the end of the year you will achieve a BTEC L1 Diploma in Sport.
Training Course Content
This programme is therefore ideal for learners who aspire to develop their football ability and skills, whilst also learning about professional conduct and behaviour and the expectations and attributes of a professional athlete.
The core units are:
- Being organised
- Developing a personal progression plan
- Working with others
- Researching a topic
Plus 6 optional units:
- How exercise affects the body
- Playing sport
- Training for fitness
- Keeping active and healthy
- Contribute to running a sports event
- Coaching skills in sport
You will also work towards achieving GCSE maths and English.
Continuing Studies
