Course description
The course will allow students to develop and practise the knowledge skills and behaviours required for a career in the construction industry
All 16-19-year olds on full-time study programmes will be required to retake GCSE English and Maths if they have not already attained a GCSE grade 4 in these subjects
Tutors from the industry with vast experience as Plumbers. Well-equipped industry standard workshops supported by a team of technicians.

Suitability - Who should attend?
At least 3 GCSE grade 2 or above, including Maths and English Language as well as a commitment to the course. These requirements may be assessed case by case at the discretion of the curriculum staff

Level 2 City & Guilds Plumbing course or an apprenticeship

Topics include:
- Fundamental safe working practices
- Structure of the construction industry
- Site preparation for working in the construction industry
- Environmental and sustainability measures in domestic dwellings
- Above ground drainage
- Copper pipework
- Plastic pressure pipework
- Low carbon steel pipework
- Installation, repair and maintenance of plumbing systems
- Plumbing science
Course delivery details
This course is a mixture of theory and practical hands on experience. Homework: Homework and self-study will be set at tutors' discretion, with materials available on the College VLE.
Expenses
You will need safety footwear and normal study equipment. There is a portfolio supplied that must be completed by the candidate with their practical and theoretical evidence
