Course description
On this course, you will learn about the important issues surrounding our legal system including why we have certain laws, who is involved in the legal system and how the law affects us all! For example, do you know the difference between a solicitor and barrister? There are three exam papers for A Level Law which focus on Criminal Law; Tort Law and Contract Law. Each paper also tests elements of the English Legal System. To help you in your studies, you will visit local courts and see the law in action. If you like reading and debating, then this course will stimulate you and demonstrate your ability to present reasoned arguments in order to reach a sustainable conclusion. You will be prepared for the academic training necessary to study Law at university and for employment in the legal sector.

- Criminal and civil law
All 16-19 year olds on full-time programmes will be required to retake GCSE English and Maths or to undertake Functional Skills, if they have not already attained the equivalent of a GCSE grade C in these subjects, every year of their course, until they complete their studies.
Students who would like to learn about the workings of the English legal system. As well as study various aspects of the law including criminal, contract and tort.

Expenses
Some costs may be involved in the proposed visits and trips during this course. Students will visit Parliament, the Supreme Court and the Old Bailey in London as well as local visits to the law courts.
