Introduction to Coaching in Sport: Level 1 Diploma
This course is the perfect first step on your way to becoming a professional athlete! You will exert yourself in the field of sports, coaching and the theories that underpin these.

Suitability - Who should attend?
Applicants for a Level 1 programme will normally have:
- A strong interest in their chosen programme of study
- The commitment to work towards improving English and maths as part of the programme
- The ability to discuss past experiences of education and future ambitions within a group
Training Course Content
What you'll learn
This qualification consists of credits, so you will study four core units and six optional units.
To lay the foundation for your career or further study, your learning will consist of core units, including:
- Organisational skills
- Developing a personal progression plan
- Working with others
- Researching a topic
You will also have the chance to choose optional units in order to specialise, such as:
- How exercise affects the body
- Playing sport
- Training for fitness
- Keeping active and healthy
- Running a sports event
- Coaching skills in sport
At the end of the qualification you will gain the BTEC Level 1 Diploma in Sport.
