Course description
A career in hairdressing could be right for you if you have creativity, flair, an eye for detail and a passion for excellent customer service. Our training hair salons are run in partnership with Wella; offering access to the latest products and training for all students.
Career opportunities are varied: you could become a self-employed stylist or salon owner, or develop your technical skills in specialist areas such as colouring, extensions, African hair styling, wedding hair styling, and many more.
In addition to gaining valuable work experience both within and outside of our on-site traning salons, you will learn a range of key skills and techniques required in hairdressing, including health and safety, advising and communicating with clients, and stock control and management.
You will also visit other local salons, attend masterclasses, visit trade exhibitions, and take part in competitions to boost your skills, knowledge and creativity.
Upon successful completion of the Level 1 Certificate, you can progress on to a Level 2 Hairdressing programme at City of Oxford College.
