Course description
Studying GCSE Maths will develop a positive attitude to mathematics and an appreciation of the place of maths in both employment and everyday life. You will learn to think mathematically, to understand mathematical ideas and how to use them. This is a great subject to help develop your analytical and problem solving skills.
If you do not have a minimum grade of C (4) in maths at GCSE, then you can study this course for free.

You will be asked to complete and online initial assessment to identify which course is right for you. Most students completing this activity are successful. It is a good idea to spend some time on BBC Bitesize GCSE website to brush up beforehand.
Students need to make a firm commitment to attend for the whole course.
Training Course Content
This is a GCSE Mathematics, delivered in one academic year. The course assesses students' abilities to understand mathematical ideas and utilise mathematical techniques.
There are three core units:
- number and algebra
- geometry and algebra
- statistics and number
Course delivery details
You will learn though a combination of traditional lessons and e-learning. You will need to be prepared for extra study and spend around three hours per week on studying away from the classroom.
These units will be assessed through three separate end of year examinations.
