Course description

During the course you will gain a broad understanding of the various topics, including: communication techniques, animation, digital graphics for interactive and print-based media, 2D digital art for computer games and 2D computer game engines.

All 16-19 year olds on full-time programmes will be required to retake GCSE English and Maths or to undertake Functional Skills, if they have not already attained the equivalent of a GCSE grade C in these subjects, every year of their course, until they complete their studies.

This course is suitable for you if you have an interested in the creative digital media sector, especially website and games development.

Suitability - Who should attend?

At least 4 GCSEs at grade 3 (grade D) or above, including Maths and English Language. Alternatively you should have achieved an equivalent Level 1 qualification, plus Functional Skills in Maths and English at Level 1 or above.

Outcome / Qualification etc.

On successful completion of this course, you could progress on to study a Level 3 BTEC in Games Development/Creative Media Production.
