Course description
With the Foundation Pathway in Information Technology (IT), you can kickstart a career in this exciting sector as you learn the skills needed to progress. You will also be given the opportunity to gain English, Maths and IT qualifications alongside the programme.
Upon completion of the course, you can progress to a higher-level study programme at college, or onto an apprenticeship. We can give you advice and information to help you plan your next step, whether you would like to study another course in the college or somewhere else, or are looking to enter employment.
We will provide you with the opportunity to develop vital employability and independence skills through our learning companies. Our partnerships with external organisations and employers are central to giving you the tools you need to have a successful future.

Suitability - Who should attend?
The only entry requirement is that you have a successful interview with a member of the course team in order to ensure that we can fully meet your needs
We are looking for young people with an enthusiasm to learn and a desire to make progress. We want applicants to actively take part in keep warm activities set by teachers before starting in September
Training Course Content
When you complete this course you will receive:
- Vocational Certificate in Learning, Employability and Progression
- GCSEs or Functional skills in English and Maths
This course will also give you essential employability skills to help you look for employment.
From this pathway you can move on to a Level 2 IT course or another Level 2 course in a related area.
Course delivery details
You will take part in interactive and fun activities to develop your skills ina supoprtive and collaborative classroom.
You will be assessed through creating a folder of evidence for each subject. You will be assessed at a level that suits you. Functional skills and GCSE maths and English will be assessed through external examinations.
