When producing great content, like a YouTube video series or podcast show, it is important to maximize that content to strengthen the SEO on a website. The best way to do that is by dropping the script on the post or blog. In the conversation, Mark pressed Ryan to describe why. Ryan shared that a carefully crafted podcast will use the key words important to that organization. Those key words should complement the mission of the company and the website. If you have not built the list of keywords and shared that with your podcast producer, be sure to do so.
While it is not expected that your listeners or viewers will read an entire transcript, the Google algorithm will! Google considers content with less than 500 words to be “thin.” In fact, Ryan has found that page one results are often from websites with over 2,500 words and they contain the “best scoring” words for that specific search. Having relevant content with the key words will help people find a page. Ryan agreed that no one has time to write their own transcript and directed us to http://www.temi.com. We tried this service on this podcast and the transcript, edited from the site, is below. We were able to try it for free; after this trial, the service costs $.25 per minute.
