Course description
Divorce is complex enough when both parties are UK residents. It becomes even more difficult when one party is not resident in the UK or becomes not resident in the UK. It will then involve tax laws of two countries which may have an inconsistent approach.
This virtual classroom seminar considers various aspects of international taxation and how it affects separating and divorcing couples and looks at practical ways of dealing with a complex area.
Presenter Jeremy Mindell will discuss the treatment of maintenance payments in different countries, the use of double tax agreements, the family home, changes of domicile, the use of trusts, and much more.
