Course description

Who is responsible when AI makes an error? What rights are there for protection from discrimination caused by algorithms, machine learning and automated decision-making?


Presented by Jacob Turner of Fountain Court Chambers, this virtual seminar will address the legal issues arising from artificial intelligence, including the questions of liability if AI causes harm, internal governance mechanisms to manage AI risk, through to the developing regulatory environment. It will look at the recently enacted laws on AI internationally, including the EU’s draft AI regulation, Singapore's developing AI governance, and China’s recently released draft algorithm regulations. Lastly, it will also cover how firms should go about setting up controls/governance environments for AI systems.
