Course description
This live and interactive online course will explore the main issues which arise in drafting and negotiating an agreement for lease with development obligations. Although the main focus will be on a multi-let retail or retail warehouse development, the course will also be relevant for other types of development.
The virtual classroom session is presented by Peta Dollar. She practised as a solicitor for more than 25 years and was a Partner at a firm for 17 years which focused on major development projects. During the session Peta discuss a wide range of topics including traditional procurement/design and build contracts, collateral warranties and the Contracts (Rights of Third Parties) Act 1999, CDM Regulations, LADs, tax issues (SDLT, VAT and Construction Industry Scheme), measurement and rent, guarantors and practical drafting examples.
